Intel Haswell CPUs, Thunderbolt 2 and
Retina display these are some of the important features the 13 inch
and 15 inch MacBook Pro line, so let’s not get impatient and take a
closer look to these two laptops.
If we start weighing them we see from
the start that there lighter with a starting weight of 3.46 pounds
for the 13 inch version and 4.46 pounds for the 15 inch version.
There are also thinner both being 0.71 inch thick.
Under the hood we see fourth generation
dual-core for 13 inch version and quad-core for 15 inch version. The
13 inch version comes loaded with 4GB and 8GB where the 15 inch with
8GB and 16GB. Both can be configurable to 16GB. Like MacBook Air here
we see the new Iris Graphics for the 13 incher and Iris Pro or
combined with NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M with 2GB GDDR5 with graphics
switching capability. Storage for these two starts from 128GB till
1TB flash storage. They also feature the same 720p FaceTime HD
camera. We also find two USB 3 ports, headphone port, two Thunderbolt
2 ports, SDXC card slot, HDMI port and a MagSafe 2 port. Now arriving
at the wireless area we see the new wireless ac standard and
Bluetooth 4.0 technology.
Even though these laptops have been on a weight loss program the batteries are capable of giving 71.8 watt-hour and 95 watt-hour for the 13 and respectively 15 inch versions with an autonomy of 9 and 8 hours and a standby of 30 days.
The price for the 13 inch version
starts at $1299 and can reach $1799 whereas for 15 inch version it
stars from $1999 and reaches $2599. These prices are set for the base
versions.
